Add a TCP Check

Select the “Add Checks” drop down menu on the right

Select the “TCP Check” option

On the Basic tab, enter a check name (identifiable name), port, host, and any other check settings.
Check Interval – Define how often Sonar polls your host.
Notification Delay – Define how soon Sonar begins sending notifications. For example, if the server is manually restarted by an admin you can prevent Sonar from sending a notification in this case by extending this setting.
Regions – The list of regions Sonar can monitor from, select one or many.

Optional– Test the check or run a trace route from our monitoring locations.

Optional– Enter any additional options you would like to use as determining factors in your servers availability.
String to Send – A string to send the server
String to Receive – An expected response string from the server
IP Version – Specifies if the check will be performed over IPv4 or IPv6

Optional– Select the Contact Groups tab. Assign any notification groups to the check that you would like to receive Sonar notifications regarding its status.
